Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi
You will be picked at the airport, with one of our drivers who will transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi lunch and dinner will take place at a restaurant you will spend the afternoon at the comfort of your hotel or alternatively have a city walk: on bed and breakfast accommodation at Crown plaza Nairobi.
Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu
Today you will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi by one of our safari representatives, who will give you a short introduction and briefing on your upcoming safari. After your safari briefing you will head north through an agricultural region that is rich with coffee, wheat and various other crops. You will cross the equator at Nanyuki and continue north before descending from the cool highlands into the wildlife rich savanna woodlands. Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. The Samburu is one of the lesser-known Kenyan national parks, but is nevertheless teeming with wildlife. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty here to attract animals from the surrounding savanna plains. The reserve is home to an abundance of rare northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the beisa oryx (also referred to as the “Samburu Special Five”): full-board accommodation at Samburu Simba Lodge
Day 3: Samburu
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Samburu. The morning is the most ideal time for game viewing, and your guide will make certain to search for the elusive leopards and lions along the way. Return to your lodge for breakfast and then spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. In the evening, you will go on another game drive early evening in search of the abundant wildlife at Samburu. Alternatively you can depart after breakfast with a picnic lunch and do a full day game drives, returning to the camp later afternoon. You will encounter and learn more about the wildlife species roaming this reserve. On a typical game drive you are bound to come across Leopards, Elephants, Lions, Giraffe, among other wild species. After your evening game drive, you will return to your lodge for evening rest and dinner: full-board accommodation at Samburu Simba Lodge.
Day 4: Samburu - Ol Pejeta
After breakfast, depart from Samburu with a game drive en route driving to Nanyuki. Arrive at Ol Pejeta in time for lunch and afternoon rest. Ol Pejeta is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees. You will have an early evening game drive around the Ol Pejeta Conservancy returning to your camp in time for dinner : full-board accommodation at Sweetwaters Serena
Day 5: Ol Pejeta – Bogoria
After breakfast you will depart form the foot of Mt Kenya and trace your way along the fringes of the Aberdare Ranges towards the Rift Valley. You will drive into the rift valley arriving on the shores of Lake bogoria in time for lunch. After lunch, depart for a late afternoon game drive in the reserve to see the flamingoes. The lake lies in a trough below the Ngendelel Escarpment, a sheer wall 600 metres (2,000 ft) high. The lake covers 32 square kilometres (12 sq mi). It is geothermically active on the western shore, with geysers and hot springs. The geologist J.W. Gregory described the lake in 1892 as “the most beautiful view in Africa”. The reserve is in a semi-arid area. The only major river feeding the lake is the Waseges River, which rises on the northern slopes of the Aberdare Range. The lake is surrounded by grasslands dotted with bushes. There is acacia-ficus woodland to the south, and the north merges into a papyrus swamp. The park was opened in November 1970. The lake is alkaline, feeding blue-green algae, which in turn feed flamingoes. Meal Plan: Full Board Accommodation: lake bogoria resort and spa
DAY 6: Lake Bogoria – L. Nakuru
After breakfast, you will depart for lake Nakuru national park, en-route maji moto hot spring which is a series of tiny hot springs that ooze from the ground beneath on a seasonal riverbed. The water is naturally heated to a temperature of between 36-38 degrees centigrade. The spring water squeezes itself into clear pools just deep enough that you can see right to the bottom. Arriving in time at lake Nakuru for lunch and an afternoon game drive. , Nakuru meaning “dust or dusty place”. Is one of the floors of the great rift valley surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, is where the Park lies. This beautiful haven is ideal for bird watching, picnic, hiking, and game drives. The place is attractive due to its numerous flocks of flamingoes, which are hosted by the algae that spread in the lake this supports the nesting grounds of the birds, there are also birds like the pelicans, avocets, ducks a total of 400 species of birds recorded in the park. Apart from the birds it’s home to rhinos, lions, cape buffalos, zebras, waterbucks, African wild dogs and lions. Etc. other attractions include the hills, Makalia waterfall, and unique vegetation: fullboard accommodation at Sarova Lion hill.
Day 7: Lake Nakuru- Masai Mara.
After an early breakfast you will drive into Masai land, tracing the Rift Valley escarpment and wild open plains before stopping at the Masai town of Narok. From here you will make your way into the park, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. This is one of Kenya’s most visited reserves due to its extraordinary wildlife density, including the “big five” and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara and Serengeti ecosystems, giving life to the both reserves before finally pouring out into the Lake Victoria. Impressive and most notable are the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle that migrate by instinct from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya. This journey is coupled by numerous obstacles, which makes it even more magnificent full-board at Mara Simba Lodge
Day 8, 9 & 10: Masai Mara- Full Day Game Drives
On this 3 days you will be treated early morning game drives between 0600hrs to 0900hrs here you will catch the African sunrise, and this will always be the most rewarding game drive time since you will find that majority of the animals are very active and fresh looking for food of the day in the open savannah grassland. go back to your lodge/camp and have a quick breakfast. Head for a days game with packed picnic lunch. During the day when the sun gets hot majority of the animals will go near the river banks to quench their thirst and cool themselves while others like the big cats hide hence rarely spotted at this time, but when the sun goes down some animals will show up. Day 11 Masai mara – L. Naivasha
Wake up early in the morning then after breakfast start drive to Arusha/Moshi on this day you will do en route game drive in Serengeti, late in the afternoon arrive at Kilimanjaro airport at 5-6 pm for your flight to Zanzibar. End of amazing holiday!
Day 12: L. Naivasha – Amboseli
After breakfast, head south to Amboseli, arriving in time for lunch. We will head out for an afternoon game drive, which will take place between 16h00 and 18h30. On this game drive, you will get the final catch of animals while they are out of their hides to hunt for their last meal of the day. You will find the reptiles bathing in the sun, while the other animals that graze will be assembling for resting Meal Plan: Full Board Accommodation: Kibo Amboseli
Day 12: L. Naivasha – Amboseli
After breakfast, head south to Amboseli, arriving in time for lunch. We will head out for an afternoon game drive, which will take place between 16h00 and 18h30. On this game drive, you will get the final catch of animals while they are out of their hides to hunt for their last meal of the day. Day 13;Amboseli National Park;
This being a full day at the park, it will be a busy day. There will be an early morning game drive between 06h00 and 09h00 to catch up with the African sunrise. This being the most rewarding game drive time, since majority of the animals are very active and look for food for the day in the open savannah grassland. Return to your lodge/camp and have a quick breakfast. Later, have a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch Meal Plan: Full Board Accommodation: Kibo Amboseli
Day 14:Tsavo west National Park
Depart for the massive Tsavo west National Park after early morning after breakfast. Arrive at your camp in time for lunch. Have an afternoon at your disposal to relax and freshen up. An evening game drive will follow. Meal Plan: Full Board Accommodation: kilaguni serena

TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK

We call this national park the land of lava, springs, man eater and magical sunset.

  • The Mzima springs which is a sight of fifty million gallons of clear water coming out from the under parched lava rocks, creating a spectacular scenery hence called the land of spring.
  • A vibrant volcanic arena (shetani lava) 200 years ago a lava that formed the volcanic arena spewed from the ground and its fiery fury was thought by locals to be the devils doing.
  • The Park is called the land of the man eater because of the two lions that were said to have attacked the builders of the Ugandan railway that was in construction in 1898. Apart from the lion, the park is known for being a home of the elephants, hippos, cheetahs, leopards, buffalos, diverse plants and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra reed warblers. Apart from that the Tsavo west has the Ngulia sanctuary this is where the growing population of highly endangered black rhinos are saved from extinction.
  • Most of all the tsavo west has a magical scene of the sun setting
  • Day 15 Tsavo East national park

    After breakafast depart for Tsavo east. After check-in and lunch, an afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive in this vast Park is planned. Meal Plan: Full Board Accommodation: Ashnil aruba Tsavo

    TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK

    This Park is one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya, situated in a semi-arid area previously known as the Taru desert. It opened in April 1948 and is located near the town of voi in the Taita Taveta county.

    The Park has the following attractions.</p.

  • The Mudanda rock. It’s a 1.6km inselberg rock that acts as a water catchment that supplies a natural dam below, where fauna in the park come for a drink during the dry season.
  • The Yatta plateau where the longest lava flow which runs along the western boundary of the park, its length was formed by lava from Ol Donyo Sabuk mountain.
  • Then it has the Lugard falls which is a series of white water rapid on the Galana river. Aruba dam which was built in 1952 across the river Voi. the reservoir created by the dam attracts many animals and water birds.
  • Tsavo west has variety of fauna that includes the aardwolf, buffalo, the tsavo lions a population whose adult male often lacks a mane, gazelles, duikers’ eland, the giraffe, spotted and striped hyena, wild dogs, impalas, leopard, different species of primates, the plain and the gravy’s zebra, hartebeest, and has 500 bird species recorded including ostriches, kestrels, buzzards, weaver birds, kingfishers, hornbills, secretary birds and herons.
  • Day 16: Tsavo East to Nairobi

    After breakfast you will drive back to Nairobi arrive in time for your flight.
